I Am Calling For Colours, 2020
Driftwood, acryl paint, rusty plate, photo, glimmer and gemstones
The Factory, Djúpavík, Iceland
Plastic-like driftwood cocoons float around your body, in opposition to the obscurity of the factory. The pastel-coloured pieces are accompanied by plastic diamonds, a rusty plate, and a photograph of Reykjavík birds trying to stay warm. All subjects have in common a swaying connection to Iceland.
The installation is an attempt to temporarily change identity, to pay tribute to life’s contrasts; and an impulsive need to unthink, puzzle, and do.
