Living in Reykjavík, Iceland.

ARTIST-CURATOR STATEMENT

Emilie Dalum is an independent curator and visual artist who combines cultural, personal and intimate subjects to manifest her hybrid practice. Not dedicated to one medium, her work moves across curation, project management, photography, drawing, poetry and installations. Her practice explores the human conditions, revolving around the themes of body, truth and private-public dichotomies. As a whole, her practice investigates the power of coexisting exhibition formats and the experience of the audience.

She is the founder, art curator and project manager of the exhibition projects The Factory in Djúpavík and The Tub in Þingeyri. Her latest curatorial addition was an art installation, Garden of Eyes, situated in her private garden as part of The Winter Lights  Festival in Reykjavík, 2023. Her own works of art have been exhibited in institutions and galleries in Iceland. She is a board member of Sequences Real Time Art Festival.
